The Un-tempered Pianos is an extended minimalist work for two pianos in just intonation. Strong attention has been paid to achieving a new tone colour for piano in this piece. This has been achieved through the use of the Syntonic comma 81/80 (aka Didymus or meantone comma) which produces a chorus-like effect. This piece was performed at Beaumont house as part of the Soundstream Blue Touch Series.
